Dosher Laboratory and Cardiopulmonary Departments Receive Accreditation Renewal from College of American Pathologists
The Dosher Memorial Hospital Lab and Cardiopulmonary Department have received their accreditation renewals from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) based on results of a recent on-site inspection. During the CAP re-accreditation process, which occurs every two years, inspectors examine records and quality control of procedures to ensure the highest standard of care for all patients. CAP inspectors also examine staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety program and record, and overall management.
"We're very proud of the Cardiopulmonary and Laboratory Medicine team for this significant accomplishment," said Dosher President and CEO Tom Siemers. "Our Cardiopulmonary Director John Watkins and Dosher Lab Director Mendy Williams demonstrate Dosher's commitment to high-quality patient care through the standards that they have set and uphold.
The U.S. federal government recognizes the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program, begun in the early 1960s, as being equal-to or more-stringent-than the government's own inspection program
