Dosher Wound Care Center Celebrates 5 Years

Dosher recently celebrated the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Healogics® Wound Care Center at Dosher Memorial Hospital. The Dosher Wound Care Center, which offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time, has been recognized as a National Center of Excellence for the past three years for their exceptionally high heal rate and patient satisfaction scores.

Treatments at the Center include hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen under pressure to help progress the healing of the wound. Since opening in 2014, The Dosher Wound Care Center has worked with nearly 1,200 patients and has performed over 3,000 hyperbaric treatments.

"When we help a patient heal a wound, we are not only helping to restore health and quality of life. In many cases, we are eliminating the need for amputations," says Brad Hilaman, MD, Medical Director, Dosher Wound Care Center.
