Dosher and BCC Foundation Leaders Earn Executive Certificates in Nonprofit Leadership

In the words of Lynda Stanley, President of the Dosher Memorial Hospital Foundation, "The work of nonprofits is crucial to the survival of our communities." Stanley, along with Elizabeth Wassum, Executive Director of the Brunswick Community College Foundation, attended the Executive Nonprofit Leadership Program at Duke University last fall, with the enrollment of both women sponsored by The Tom and Susan Rabon Charitable Foundation.

The Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership is a comprehensive program that offers experienced nonprofit professionals the opportunity to gain awareness of emerging trends in the nonprofit sector and work effectively with other leaders across organizations and stakeholder groups to increase their capacity for effective leadership.

"The exposure to the cohort of other non-profit professionals, the faculty, and course materials were truly transformational and inspired new ways of thinking about how non-profit organizations serve as a network of support in our communities," said Elizabeth Wassum.

The program hosted 20 nonprofit leaders from around the world, enabling them to lead strategic change within their organizations as well as through the communities in which they serve.
