Dosher Foundation Elects New Board Members
The Dosher Hospital Foundation is thrilled to welcome six new members to the Board.

Joe Agovino: Mr. Agovino relocated to Southport in 2000 and is a North Carolina Realtor. He was elected to the Dosher Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees in 2005 where he served for 11 years. During that time, he was the chair of the Building and Grounds Committee throughout the renovation and expansion of the hospital's Patient Care Unit. At that time, Mr. Agovino had the vision and championed the establishment of the Dosher Hospital Foundation and was the Board of Trustees Representative to the Foundation for six years.

Robert Breining: Mr. Breining, a New Jersey Native, is a certified public accountant whose career began working for 10 years in two Fortune Five Hundred corporations. This ultimately led to his founding his own practice with a client list of small businesses of a wide spectrum. After vacationing in the Carolinas for as long as he can remember, in 2013, Mr. Breining and his wife relocated to Oak Island, where he has continued serving his clients remotely.

John Erwin: Mr. Erwin is a Certified Financial Planner with AXA Advisors, LLC. He has won numerous awards including the AXA President's Trophy, GAMA Master Agency Award, and the 2011 Triangle Business Leaders of the Year for Financial Services. Mr. Erwin's civic involvements include the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Board of Advisors, Wake Educational Partnership Board of Directors, and WakeMed Hospital Foundation Champions. He and his wife live on Oak Island, where he enjoys golf, boating, traveling, and is actively involved with Generations Church.

Trisha Howarth: Ms. Howarth has enjoyed community involvement and has served in various civic positions as a member and leader. As Broker-in-Charge at Bald Head Island Limited, LLC, Ms. Howarth's day-to-day work life has centered around hospitality, marketing, and the real estate industry. Ms. Howarth has served on the Southport-Oak Island Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Brunswick Community College Foundation Board, NC 4th of July Festival Committee and Board, and the North Carolina Vacation Rental Managers Association Board, as well as many other local organizations.

Susan Rabon: Ms. Rabon serves on the Board and is Vice President of Commonwealth Home Health Care, Inc. and Commonwealth Document Management, Inc., both headquartered in Danville, VA. She serves in an advisory capacity to the companies which provide services and products which cover all aspects of healthcare including medical equipment, home oxygen, safety and rehabilitation products. Ms. Rabon is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, a Board Certified Legal Specialist in Utilities Law, and a North Carolina Mediator. Ms. Rabon is the current Chair of the Bald Head Island Transportation Authority and serves on the College of Humanities and Social Sciences Advisory Board at North Carolina State University.

Maurice Smith: Mr. Smith, a Southport native, is the CEO of Local Government Federal Credit Union and Civic FCU. He is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and has also achieved an NC Real Estate Brokers License, Certified Credit Union Executive Designation, and attended several marketing and management schools. Memberships and affiliations include: Board of Trustees, UNCW, Board of Directors, National Cooperative Bank, and Board of Directors, Credit Union National Association.
Foundation Officers were elected to the following positions: Melody Ryan, Chair, and Craig Chancellor, Secretary; and re-elected to the following positions: Adam Powell, Vice Chair, and Joyce John, Treasurer.
