Dosher Welcomes Board Certified Family Medicine Physician, Sarah Ward, MD

Dosher has expanded their primary care provider network with the addition of Dr. Ward to the medical staff. Dr. Ward, a board-certified family medicine physician, graduated from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, VA, and before joining Dosher, she completed her family medicine residency with New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

Dr. Ward brings with her a passion for keeping patients and families healthy. While in medical school, Dr. Ward founded the VCU Humanism of Medicine project, to encourage compassion in medicine and help combat the effects of desensitization of healthcare workers. She has worked with several organizations which have helped bring healthcare services to underserved populations, including Healthcare for the Homeless in Baltimore, MD, and has volunteered in remote area medical clinics to perform routine physicals to patients in rural Appalachia. Dr. Ward is excited to practice medicine at Dosher, in a community that she feels a part of and invested in.

The practice of Dr. Ward, Dosher Medical-Atlantic Avenue, is located at 819 North Atlantic Avenue, directly behind Dosher Hospital. Dr. Ward welcomes patients of all ages and can be reached for appointments at 910-454-4635.
